HDFC executed extensive secant pile shoring works to safely retain excavation up to a maximum depth of 15 meters. The shoring system was designed and installed to ensure excavation stability, control ground movement, and protect adjacent structures.

1️⃣ Shoring Works

HDFC executed comprehensive shoring works using tangent pile retaining systems, designed to provide lateral earth support and ensure excavation stability throughout all construction stages.

• Installation of 400 linear meters of tangent piles with 1000 mm diameter, designed as free cantilever piles, forming the primary excavation retention system.
• Installation of 120 linear meters of tangent piles with 750 mm diameter, supported by 54 ground anchors, to enhance lateral stability in critical zones.
• Ground anchors were designed, installed, tested, and locked-off in accordance with engineering specifications to resist earth pressures and minimize wall deflection.
• The shoring system was executed to safely retain excavation up to a maximum depth of 9.70 meters, ensuring protection of adjacent properties and infrastructure.

2️⃣ Excavation Works

• Controlled excavation carried out to formation level following completion of shoring installation.
• Total excavation quantity handled was approximately 185,000 cubic meters, executed in stages to maintain excavation stability and safety.
• Continuous monitoring was undertaken to ensure compliance with design tolerances and safety requirements.

3️⃣ Engineering, Safety & Quality Compliance

• All shoring and excavation works were carried out in strict accordance with consultant-approved designs, method statements, and international standards.
• HDFC implemented comprehensive HSE management systems, ensuring safe execution within a live construction environment.
• Quality control procedures included inspection, monitoring, and documentation of pile installation, anchor works, and excavation progress.
